8-week class, $175
For dogs 6 months and older
Pre-Requisite: Understanding of Basic Obedience Commands
Intermediate Obedience will distraction proof your dog on following commands: Sit, Sit-Stay, Down, Down-Stay, Come, Heeling on a loose leash, Heeling with turns, Off, Leave It, Attention Training, Automatic Sit. This class is not suitable for dogs that do not know the basic commands yet. It is a great class for dogs who already know the basic obedience commands but need to learn to do them reliably around other dogs, people and various distractions. We do a lot of fun games in this class to get your dog more motivated and have you and your dog both enjoy training! Dogs who have previously been trained with treats will be weaned off the need to be 'bribed'.
Advanced
Group Class & AKC-CGC Preparation
8 week class, $195
For dogs 6 months and older
includes CGC participant handbook, test fee & CGC Tag!
Prerequisite: Intermediate Skills
Advanced Obedience is for dogs that have already learned and understand the basic commands (Sit, Sit-Stay, Down, Down-Stay, Come, Heel). You can not enter our CGC class if your dog is not reliable (meaning he listens the first time around distractions) with his basic commands.
In this class, we will improve all of the basic commands and work with distractions. We work especially on the 1-minute Sit-Stay, 3-minute Down-Stay, Precision Heeling, Heeling with Turns, Heeling slow, normal and fast, Automatic Sits with every stop, Come & Return to Heel. In addition to improving basic commands we prepare your dog for the
AKC Canine Good Citizen Test and will hold the AKC CGC Test at the end of the course.
If you have trained elsewhere, you can still take one of our upcoming tests. Your dog should be familiar with the exercises of the CGC test. Please bring a copy of your dogs vaccination record, $25 test fee (paid in advance), a 6-foot leash, brush for your dog and either a buckle collar or nylon/chain-choke. Please call us ahead of time so we can schedule a convenient test time for you.

Private lessons are a great way to teach your dog new commands and improve commands that he already knows. Dogs that are extremely shy, aggressive, bark incessantly or if the owner has problems handling their dog, private lessons are an ideal approach to get those problems under control. Within 3-4 lessons you should be ready to bring your dog to group classes. Private lessons also give you the option of discussing any other problems you may have with your dog at this time; such as Housebreaking, Jumping, Mouthing, Chewing, Barking, Digging etc.
Our Behavioral Trainers will determine which level your dog needs if you are experiencing behavioral problems. We have to take all necessary precautions to assure the safety of our clients and our staff and in most cases of aggression it is necessary to schedule the lessons so that no other dogs are present and additional staff is available.

Our show handling course covers the AKC point schedule for your breed, grooming and care of a show dog, use of treats or toys for attention in the ring, stacking techniques, free-stack,
attention to the handler, judge's examination etc.
Show Handling is done ONLY on a 1-1 basis, since each dog breed requires different showing techniques. For example, cropped and docked breeds require
a much different approach then a Golden Retriever for example.
Rally-O
8 x 1-hour sessions $175
for dogs 6 months and older
Prerequisite: Basic Skills (sit, down, stay, come, heel)
Rally Obedience is the newest addition to Companion Events sponsored by the American Kennel Club. Rally is a sport
where a dog and handler complete a course designed by the rally judge. It has some characteristics of rally sports car
racing, dog agility, and traditional obedience combined into a new fun sport. The dog and handler have to pass a course
of designed stations, usually between 10-20, depending on the level. Each station has a sign providing instructions
regarding the next skill that is to be performed. The American Kennel Club has three classes - Novice, Advanced and Excellent.
Rally Obedience is tons of fun! Handlers may talk to their dogs, praise & encourage them as well as reinforce commands
and/or hand-signals, at anytime and as often as desired throughout the performance.
